ARABIC COURSES: MAY - AUGUST 2026

All our courses are online and in Eastern Time Zone (EST).

  • For this round of Arabic, we’re offering courses for absolute beginners and high beginners who wish to learn Modern Standard Arabic and/or Palestinian Arabic. In addition, we’re offering a new course for intermediate learners: ARL201: Introduction to Arabic Literature and Poetry.

    Please note that we can only accept learners who are18 years old and above.

    Prices:

    • Sliding scale of what you can afford: 350~475 USD

    • If attending only weekly seminars: 100~165 USD for 10 seminars

    Each course includes:

    • 20 hours of language classes

    • 10 hours of educational seminars

    • 20 hours of weekly help sessions

    • Homework and feedback

    During the first two weeks, you’re welcome to switch to another course, if you feel the course level is not right for you.

    The net proceeds from this round of Arabic courses will be donated to verified Palestinian families in Gaza listed with OBE and other charities or non-profit organizations that focus on Gaza.

  • Description: The course prepares students to get familiar with Arabic script. In addition, students will learn to understand and use simple, frequently used sentence structures and phrases related to familiar topics in Modern Standard Arabic. Selected topics include common greetings, kinship terms and honorifics, subject / possessive / demonstrative pronouns, forming questions, cardinal numbers, time related expressions, conjugating commonly used verbs in present tense.

    Day/time: 6:00 - 8:00 PM (EST), Mondays, May 25th - July 27th, 2026

  • Description: The course supports students who are already familiar with Arabic script, simple and frequently used sentence structures. We’ll focus on relevant contexts that use MSA, including formal and everyday occasions. Classroom time will be divided between language learning and open discussions on selected issues on language and society. Grammatical topics covered in this course include: forming dual forms, nominative / genitive / accusative case endings, combining negation and imperative forms, rules of agreement in gender and plurality for nouns and adjectives, subject / possessive / demonstrative pronouns, the concept of Idafa, prepositions, active / passive participles, conjugating regular verbs in past and present tenses, various forms of negation and demonstrating politeness with specific sentence structures.

  • Description: This course will introduce students to the Arabic script, as well as basic language structure, with an emphasis on everyday usage in Palestinian Arabic contexts. Selected topics include Palestinian Arabic pronunciation rules, common greetings and expressions, subject / possessive / demonstrative pronouns, conjugation of regular and irregular verbs in present / past / future tense, definite article, “there is/are” expressions and forming questions.

  • Description: This course prepares students to handle simple, routine tasks and engage in basic conversations in Palestinian Arabic. The grammatical topics covered in this course include time adverbials and expressions of frequency, using the infinitive form, cardinal and ordinal numbers, negations, rules of agreement for nouns and adjectives in gender and plurality, possessive phrases and compound nouns, conjugating in past continuous tense, and the expression“ used to”.

  • Description: This course is designed for high beginners who wish to continuously working on improving their communicative skills in Palestinian Arabic. Students will learn to describe personal experiences and ideas with “seem“ expressions, imagined scenarios with “if“ expressions, use commands with interrogative forms, and construct longer sentences with relative pronouns.

  • Description: Whether you've been a beginner-intermediate student of Arabic or a heritage speaker wanting to reconnect to your roots, this course offers a structured journey into the heart of Arabic literature. Reading Arabic literature offers the chance to move beyond textbooks and engage with the art of the language, enabling students to grow in their mastery of Arabic while savouring the profound eloquence and timeless wisdoms of the literary masters from both the modern and classical periods.

    In this course, we will:

    • ​Explore the canon: study a curated selection of poetry, prose, and fables from different historical periods with a focus on accessible content.

    • Deepen vocabulary: build a lexicon specific to the literary tradition and historical context. (Glosses will be provided for each reading!)

    • Decipher complexity: begin the mastery of classical grammar and rhetorical techniques by engaging with practical examples.

    • ​Engage with ideas: explore the intersection of literature and philosophy, examining how great thinkers used the Arabic language to probe ethics, logic, and the nature of the soul.

    • Join the tradition: Participate in communal reading that honours the oral and written heritage of the language

    Registered participants will receive the seminar schedule and topics via email. Attendance is highly encouraged for Arabic learners.
