Schedule: 1 hour per session, once per week on Zoom (up to 12 sessions total), October to December.
Compensation: $1000 CAD total
Role Overview:
Lead 12 one-hour seminar discussions for students who are learning French. Discussions will focus on social issues and decolonial education, such as:
Sociolinguistic aspects of French language and/or French language education
Social issues faced by French-speaking communities, especially decolonial movements in French colonies
Decolonial struggles and resistance in French colonies
Linguistic diversity of French dialects
Historical linguistics and the French language
Minority languages spoken in France and other French-speaking communities
Ideal Candidate should have:
A background in any related fields, such as French linguistics, sociolinguistics, anthropology, history, language education, African studies, Middle Eastern studies, Indigenous studies, Southeast Asian Studies
Strong ability to facilitate engaging discussions on language and society
Availability to host seminars for students in Eastern Time Zone

Position: Instructor for French as a Second Language (Remote)
Contract Duration: 3 months (October – December)
Schedule: 2 hours of teaching on Zoom per week for 12 weeks (24 teaching hours in total)
Compensation: $2500-3500CAD dependent on number of students enrolled
Role Overview:
Teach an online course of French as a second language to adult learners who are English speakers
Ideal Candidate should have:
Online teaching experience of French as a second language to adult learners
Experience using Zoom as a teaching tool, e.g. using the breakout rooms, whiteboard and polling
Education or training in language education, linguistics or related fields
Background knowledge in decolonial language education
Availability to teach students in Eastern Time Zone
